The Wishing Tree
The Friends of the North End Library started the Wishing Tree with donation ornaments years ago at the Annual Spring Fling. It was brought out once or twice a year as a way to provide extra funding for the librarians wishes for items that were not funded by the main branch library. Each ornament on the tree has a specific wish and a donation amount to cover that particular cost ranging from a $5.00 book replacement fund to a $300.00 new table. The tree was reinvented every time there was an event and made from various materials. Over the years we have seen a real balsam tree, a cardboard tree, a palm tree and even a balloon tree. We are so excited that a beautiful wooden tabletop tree will permanently be displayed in the North End Library. Now, if anyone is feeling generous anytime during the year, they can make a donation right at the front desk. Please leave contact info for your donation letter.

The Friends of the North End Library gratefully thank local Woodworking Artisan Grant Burger for his amazing work of art now permanently on display in the North End Library.

A LIFE PRODUCTION OF: W.C. Fields & Mae West
By Delvena Theater Group

     Wednesday, May 2nd
              6:30 p.m.

Come visit with W. C. Fields and Mae West in a dressing room on the set of My Little Chicadee.  See the characters come to life, and enjoy the laughs as the audiences did way back when.  Learn about their personal lives, too, in this humorous, yet informative production – an evening of fun.  After the performance, the actors will open up to the audience for discussion regarding Fields and West.  Truly a unique experience!

The show will feature Lynne Moulton as Mae West and Joseph Zamparelli, Jr. as W. C. Fields, with Fran Baron as Narrator, professional actors in the New England area.  The Delvena Theatre Company was founded in 1992 and has performed at various venues, most often at the Boston Center for the Arts.

This performance is truly a unique event for the North End Branch Library.

This performance is generously supported by a grant from the City Wide Friends of the Boston Public Library.

  1. This place was very comfortable. Restrooms were decent. Coming here with my friends was an amazing experience. This is among my favorite LA event venues now, because of its excellent food, perfect lighting, vibrant atmosphere and great ventilation.
